U.S. Beats Canada, 3-2, in Shootout, Sweeping U22 Series
The U.S. Women’s Under-22 Select Team swept Canada in the 2014 Under-22 Series, winning the third and final game, 3-2, in a shootout. Canada led, 1-0, going into the third period and scored another, making it 2-0. The U.S. rallied, scoring two back-to-back goals, in the final two minutes to send the game into overtime. Team USA captain, Alex Carpenter (North Reading, Mass.), scored the game-tying goal and was two-for-two in the shootout.
